Normandy Chrome Archtop Guitar with Bigsby Vibrato Tailpiece. $2549 From the classic archtop curves of the body, to the vintage Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, to the distinctive "rivets" front and back, there is simply no other guitar like the chrome Normandy Archtop guitar.Normandy's rosewood-on-maple neck id shaped close to what you would find on an old-school jazz guitar not too fat not too thin. The resonant, chromed aircraft-grade aluminum body produces smooth, warm tones that ring true and long. Sustain is increased significantly when compared to that of a conventional wooden guitar body. Normandy "old school" humbuckers with Alnico 5 magnets are overwound to 12K ohms for higher output, powerful midrange and driving tone. This is a deceptively solid piece of instrument. You may be able to snap the neck, but the body will stand up to the most aggressive punk-inspired outbursts. The Normandy archtop guitar weighs 8.6 lb. which is roughly the same (or less) than most other electric guitars. I maintains perfect balance when on a strap and is so comfortable that you'll play longer and better. The sound, the look, the feel, the durability and all the extra care taken to perfect this one-of-a-kind guitar, combined with state-of-the-art manufacturing processes equal a guitar that you would expect to cost thousands more than it does. Normandy guitars are quality made one at a time and are built to stand the test of time from one gig to the next.Triple-electroplated chromed aluminum body constructed of aircraft-grade materialWarmoth hard rock maple with rosewood fretboard18% nickel/silver fret wireTuners by GotohGraphite nut from GraphtechNormandy Humbuckers for high output, powerful midrange and toneVintage-style Bigsby vibratoIncludes custom road case |

Gibson Limited Run Les Paul Traditional with Bigsby Electric Guitar Ebony $2079 The Gibson Les Paul Traditional with Bigsby Electric Guitar earns its name thanks to the traditional features you expect in a Les Paul guitar: mahogany body, set neck with rounded '50s profile, maple top, and a pair of Gibson's '57 Classic humbucker pickups. The most prominent feature is the addition of the legendary chrome Bigsby vibrato tailpiece. Essentially the same design as when it was introduced in the mid-1940s, the Bigsby vibrato tailpiece model B70 allows players the ability to bend the pitch of notes or entire chords for vintage-style vibrato. It has been a fixture on many legendary Gibson guitars, and was named after its late inventor, Paul A. Bigsby, who sold his Bigsby Guitar company to legendary former Gibson President Ted McCarty in 1966. This classic piece of guitar hardware performs flawlessly thanks to several added enhancements such as a Schaller roller bridgea unit based on Gibson's own Tune-o-matic, but with individual roller saddlesfor improved return-to-pitch capabilities when the vibrato is used,.a Corian nut for smooth string action, a set of TonePros tuners to help keep the strings in tune, and a Schaller roller bridge to help the strings go back to the original tuning after using the Bigsby vibrato. With all the fat, sweet, snarling Les Paul tone that purists love, the new Gibson Les Paul Traditional with Bigsby sports a mahogany body with a thick maple cap for the perfect blend of warmth and clarity. Introduced in 1992, the '57 Classic humbucker in the neck position provides warm, full tone with a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson PAF humbucker crunch, inspired by those original PAFs that received a few extra turns of wire. A slightly hotter 57 Classic Plus in the bridge for gutsy crunch and soaring lead tones. These acclaimed units are made with genuine Alnico II magnets and wound with 42 AWG wire, just like the legendary PAFs of the late '50s and early '60s.The Les Paul Traditional with Bigsby is crafted with all the classic ingredients that helped make this model a legend, and it sports killer looks thanks to a stunning high-gloss Ebony Black nitrocellulose finish. A carved maple top contributes clarity and sustain, while a mahogany body adds depth and richness. Like all Les Paul Traditionals this guitar uses modern weight relief to enhance resonance and reduce weight. A set-in, solid one-piece quarter-sawn mahogany neck has a rounded "Traditional" profile and is topped with a Grade-A rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets, with a 12" radius for each choke-free bending. The neck culminates in a headstock with the preferred 17-degree backward pitch for improved string pressure in the PLEK-cut Corian nut. |
